Healing

As followers of Christ, we are born into the Kingdom of Heaven, becoming righteous citizens of Heaven.

John 1:12–13 — Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

As citizens of Heaven, we are no longer slaves to sin, but servants of righteousness. In God’s household, we possess certain rights and powers. Powers to tread over the enemy and the things of this world, as they are under the Kingdom of Light.

Ephesians 2:19–20 — Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

Jesus has given us authority over sickness, disease, demonization, and oppression of all types.

Luke 10:19 — Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.

Matthew 10:1 — And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction.

Matthew 10:8 — Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.

Mark 16:17–18 — And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.

Luke 9:2-3 — When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

Luke 10:1–2, 9 — The Lord now chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned to visit. These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few.” …Heal the sick, and tell them, ‘The Kingdom of God is near you now.’This was not only for disciples in Jesus’ time, but for the body of Christ-followers, always.

Matthew 28: 16–20 — Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

God is immutable, and thus the gifts of the Spirit never ceased.

Numbers 23:19 — God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?

Malachi 3:6 – I the LORD do not change.

Hebrews 13:8 – Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
